I CAN NOW CHECK THESE BOOKS OFF MY TO-READ LIST

Because of Winn Dixie by Kate DiCamillo

Actually this isn't the first time I've read this. But it's just such a great book a person can't help but read it again...and again. And again. Check out the movie based on the book, too. Both are charming. Dave Matthews played a great Otis!

By the way, I love Kate DiCamillo's Mercy Watson books. Mercy is a pig who gets herself into all kinds of predicaments.

The Summer of Cotton Candy by Debbie Viguie.

This is a fun Christian YA novel with a fast paced ending that took me by surprise and made me want to read the next in her series, The Fall of Candy Corn, to see if it has another fun ending like this one did.

Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt.

This book came recommended. After reading it, I see why too. The writing is rich. Except, I didn't like the ending. I sort of had in my mind a better ending. Hmmm, I wonder if the movie version is different? Maybe I'll have to check it out.

Brrrrinnnng-Brrrring!

So there I was revising one of my manuscripts when the phone rang. The call was from insight and they wanted to purchase the article I sent them called "Another Ex-Stepdad." Woohoo!

I had to try very hard to sound calm and all-together-like on the phone, even though I was about as happy as my nephews with cotton candy. And if you knew my nephews, you would know that's happy!
